We are looking for motivated apprentices for the following professions starting next year: machining technician, constructor, mechanical engineer.

Machining Technician

Apprenticeship duration: 3.5 years
Vocational school: Steyr

Objective of your training:
As a machining technician, you are responsible for the planning, production and processing of workpieces using cutting manufacturing technologies. You acquire solid know-how in metal and plastics technology as well as testing methods for plastics/metals, and gain valuable knowledge in electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.

What you can expect:

Processing of plastics, composite materials and metals
Manual work: filing, sawing, drilling, threading
Machine work: milling, turning, grinding, honing on manual as well as state-of-the-art CNC-controlled machining centers
Design using CAD systems
Programming and operation of CNC machines
Welding of metals and plastics
Planning of production processes

Design Engineer

Apprenticeship duration: 4 years
Vocational school: Linz

Objective of your training:
As a design engineer, you create model recordings and sketches of workpieces and prepare drawings of components and assemblies. You select the necessary materials, calculate material requirements and define the required manufacturing steps and methods. Your designs form the basis for production and the programming of manufacturing machines.

What you can expect:

Project-based work (project and quality management)
Design using CAD systems
Creation of sketches and model recordings
Preparation of drawings of components/assemblies from different perspectives
Carrying out technical calculations
Selection of materials according to requirements and preparation of documentation

Mechanical Engineering Technician

Apprenticeship duration: 3.5 years
Vocational school: Schärding

Objective of your training:
As a mechanical engineering technician, you are responsible for planning and manufacturing a wide variety of mechanical assemblies. You assemble them, commission them, maintain and repair them. During your training, you acquire knowledge in electrical engineering, pneumatics and hydraulics.

What you can expect:

Processing of plastics, composite materials and metals
Manual work: filing, sawing, drilling, threading
Machine work: milling, turning, grinding, honing
Knowledge of mechanical engineering (mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical engineering)
Design using CAD systems
Programming and operation of CNC machines
Assembly and maintenance of machines and systems
Regular maintenance and troubleshooting of existing machines

Information Technology Specialist

Apprenticeship duration: 4 years
Vocational school: Linz 2

Objective of your training:
As an IT specialist with a focus on operations technology, you are responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining internal IT systems and networks. You support not only classic computer workplaces, but also production systems and machines that are integrated into the IT infrastructure. You ensure that these systems communicate with each other and that data is exchanged smoothly.

What you can expect:

Selection and commissioning of network components (e.g. routers, access points)
Configuration and support of end-user devices and peripherals (e.g. laptops, monitors)
Planning and implementation of IT systems in production
Monitoring and ensuring network performance
Analysis of security risks and implementation of measures
Integration of cloud services into existing IT infrastructures

Industrial Clerk

Apprenticeship duration: 3 years
Vocational school: Linz 6 (10 weeks per year in blocks)

Objective of your training:
As an industrial clerk, you take on a wide range of office, administrative and organizational tasks in our company. During your training, you will work in different departments such as purchasing, sales, marketing, human resources and accounting and thus receive a broad-based education. Among other things, you will be responsible for procurement, processing customer inquiries and orders, monitoring goods movements, handling commercial processes and communicating with internal and external contacts.

What you can expect:

Managing, documenting and organizing business processes, files and data
Procurement processes from demand analysis to inquiry, order processing and deadline monitoring
Sales and order processing (from quotation to order handling)
Insight into warehouse management and logistics
Support in invoice verification and accounting processes
Administration and organization in the front office
Support in organizing events and activities in marketing, HR and administration

Simon Thaller in Denmark

Simon successfully completed his apprenticeship as a mechanical engineer at the beginning of 2023 and shortly thereafter decided to undertake a five-week internship abroad at Röchling Industrial Allingåbro in Denmark. There, he was able to gain international work experience and further develop both his professional and language skills.

Simon's conclusion about the internship:

“Looking back on my internship, I'm incredibly gald that I took the leap and embraced the adventure. My expectations were fully met and I can highly recommend doing an internship abroad. I improved my English skills, met new people, learned about different work processes and gained new experiences.”

Simon is currently in the third year of his apprenticeship as a mechanical engineer. As part of his training, he took the opportunity to complete an international internship from April to June this year at the subsidiary Röchling Industrial Kimberly LLC in Wisconsin, Amerika. His main area of responsibility was machining plastics on CNC machines. Simon particularly highlights the fact that during his stay he was not only able to actively contribute to the work but also had the chance to share his own ideas. In addition, he had the opportunity to present the workflows at Röchling Industrial Oepping to his American colleagues.

Simon's conclusion about the internship:

“I would definitely do the internship again. I was able to improve my English skills and get to know new people, a different culture and new work processes. I highly recommend an internship to anyone who has the chance to do one.”
